Many of you will have started your Mitre ‘career’ with one of our Sunday rides expertly organised by Alison May Lewis. Alison initiated the Sunday ride programme back in 2015, prior to which the only weekend rides were on a Saturday. Since then, she has worked with diligence, and indeed love, to maintain the ride leader pool and ensure that a route into group riding existed for any bike-curious individuals in Brighton. After many years of hard work, Alison is stepping down from this role at the end of September to make more time for her other cycling commitments training new ride leaders for British Cycling and the Breeze programme. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude for her endeavours and so I am sure you will all join me in offering the heart felt thanks of the whole club.
We are, however, equally lucky that Alison is being replaced by the multi-talented Suzanne Romney who has kindly agreed to fill Alison’s shoes – not an easy task given their metaphorical enormity for a pair of size 39s. I’m sure you will all want to congratulate Suzanne and wish her well in her new role.
Huge thanks to both.
