NEW CLUB RECORDS BY CRIS COXON

Both “25” records set this month on local courses with Cris winning the first event held by Southern Counties C.U. near Dorking and being second in the V.T.T.A. (Surrey/Sussex) event near Uckfield held on 17 September, despite still recovering from suffering a collision with a car resulting in a poisoned arm and many cuts.

CLUB “10”, 1 August, G10/99 course (Wineham)

On a less than perfect evening, Cris Coxon beat course record with an impressive 21:06, ahead of Mark Day 23:27; Charlie Heffernan 23:50 closely followed by Jack Smith 23:53 and James Hampshire 26:17.  Other clubs provided 6 men and 2 women competing.

Cris’ road bike course record for the Goodwood closed circuit was further improved by him to 20:30 on 19 July.

Sussex C.A. County Championship “50” and V.T.T.A. (Sy/Sx) Champ.”50″

A great day for Brighton Mitre C.C. Cris Coxon finished 3rd in a new club record of 1:47:06 which would have been 2nd but for a flat front tyre in the last mile.  Ist Team went to this club being Cris Coxon, David Huckell and Don Parker in a total time of 6:23:32.

This event incorporated the Veterans’ Time Trial Association (Surrey/Sussex) Championship “50” when we won 1st Team with Cris Coxon, Don Parker and Robin Johnson despite a total age of 195 years.
