The Brighton Mitre Hove Park Crits are a staple of the local racing calendar, drawing riders from across the region to take on this classic circuit. Set in the scenic surrounds of Hove Park, the 0.9-mile closed-road course features a fast, flowing layout with one sharp turn, sweeping descents, and punchy uphill sections — ideal for aggressive, attacking racing.
Races run for 20 to 40 minutes plus 2–5 laps, depending on race category, age group, and conditions. Whether you’re a solo breakaway specialist or part of a well-drilled team, this course rewards bold moves and strong teamwork.
Cash prizes will be awarded to podium finishers.
Entries are limited and sell out fast, so early registration is strongly advised.

Info for Riders – Hove Park Circuit Race
Location: The event takes place at the northern end of Hove Park (Postcode: BN3 6LS). For precision, you can use What3Words: talked.washed.keeps.
Parking: Free on-street parking is available along Goldstone Crescent, adjacent to the park.
Facilities: Public toilets are located near the tennis courts at the southern end of the park.
Support: Please note, no mechanical assistance is available on site – come prepared.
Course Access & Warm-up:
The circuit remains open to the public throughout the day.
From 6:00 PM, marshals will be in place and riders will have access to the course for warm-up and familiarisation laps.
Additional warm-up opportunities will be available between races. You’re also welcome to bring rollers or turbo trainers.
First Aid: Trained first aid personnel will be on-site during the event.
Travel by Train: The nearest station is Hove, approximately a 15-minute walk from the park.

How do I enter a race?
You can enter online via the British Cycling website or on the day, subject to availability. We recommend pre-entering to guarantee your spot, but if there’s space, sign-on will be open at the event.
How much does it cost to race?
Entry fees vary by category and will be listed on the British Cycling entry page. On-the-day entry may be slightly more expensive, so it’s worth registering in advance if you can.
Can I race both Fridays?
Yes! Each Friday night is a standalone event, and you’re welcome to race on both nights if eligible. Just enter each event separately.
Do I need a race licence?
Yes, you’ll need a valid British Cycling race licence. If you don’t have one, you can purchase a day licence at sign-on, depending on your category.
What kind of bike can I use?
Racing is for road bikes only. No tri-bars, disc wheels, or fixed-gear bikes without brakes. Your bike must be in good working order and pass a visual inspection at sign-on.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your race to sign on, collect your number, and get ready.
Can spectators attend?
Absolutely! Hove Park is perfect for spectators with great viewing points all around the course. Bring a blanket, snacks, and enjoy the evening.
